The following information is provided specifically for government schools in South Australia and should be read in conjunction with the Principals letter sent by the Department’s Chief Information Officer in April 2007 and the VIP Tone ESAS circular sent with that letter.

Please provide the following details

1. School number and school name

2. Name and email address for a school contact person to whom invoice and details of ESAS installation will be sent

3. Number of maintenance years required (one or two years)

Upon receipt of an order, VIP Tone will send an invoice to the school.

Upon receipt of payment, installation details will be sent to the school.

Secondary schools/schools with a secondary component

• One year maintenance agreement $ 945 + $94.5 GST

• Two year maintenance agreement $1570 + $ 157 GST

Primary schools

• One year maintenance agreement $  470 + $ 47 GST

• Two year maintenance agreement $  785 + $ 78.5 GST

Support will be provided by the Department’s Customer Support Centre in the same manner as the support provided for EDSAS.

VIP Tone will offer the following training sessions during Terms two and three:

• Overview of ESAS modules (half day)

• Using the ESAS modules (full day)

• Installing, synchronizing and managing PDAs (half day)

Training sessions will be conducted at VIP Tone’s main office in Currie Street, Adelaide or by arrangement can be conducted in school venues across South Australia.  

The cost of attending a half day session at VIP Tone premises is $250 + $ 25 GST per persons, $450 + $ 45 GST for two persons and $600 + $ 60 GST for three persons.

The cost of attending a full day session (including lunch) at VIP Tone premises is $600 + $ 60 GST per person, $1100 + $ 110 GST for two persons and $1500 + $ 150 GST for three persons.

Schools can register their interest in attending one or more of these training sessions by writing to adel@viptone.com and specifying the sessions of interest and the preferred term, week and day.

Schools interested in hosting training sessions on their premises for their staff and for staff in surrounding schools are offered attractive discounts.  Interested schools should write to adel@viptone.com.

VIP Tone can also develop customised training programs to meet the needs of schools in relation to EDSAS and ESAS.  Interested schools should write to adel@viptone.com outlining their training needs.

VIP Tone offers a variety of services to schools that purchase an ESAS maintenance contract.  The cost of on site services will vary depending on the extent of support required, but as a general rule, the following schedule (excluding related travel expenses) is provided:

Hourly rate: $135.00 + $ 13.50 GST

Half day (4 hours) $500.00 + $ 50.00 GST

Full day (7 hours) $900.00 + $ 90.00 GST

• Advice on purchasing barcode readers, scanners and PDAs

A list of recommended hardware that has been tested with ESAS will be published on this website on April 30 along with a price schedule.

Schools interested in purchasing hardware may do so directly with their local suppliers or through VIP Tone.

• Installation and synchronisation of PDAs

VIP Tone offers on site installation and synchronisation services for schools that purchase PDAs to use with the ESAS module Teacher Assistant – Palm Pilot.

A complete support package is also available where VIP Tone will purchase, on behalf of a school, the required number of PDAs, install the PDAs and provide a half day training session for nominated staff on the Teacher Assistant – Palm Pilot.

• Consulting and data cleansing

VIP Tone can assist schools that experience problems with their EDSAS data or require the integration of EDSAS data with other applications. Schools that require assistance should write to adel@viptone.com
